greyliliy: Tron and Beck (Tron)
Originally, I was just going to crosspost and backdate this with nothing added, but then I read the post and I realized...I did not remember that I owned Tron: Evolution. I didn't even remember that I played it (or rather, made my brother play it). I have completely blocked that memory, and after reading that post, a little bit of a memory has come back. But wow. That's fun.

Anyway, while I'm here, I might as well talk about my Tron feelings over 10 years since I wrote the post below:

Tron: Legacy is still one of my all time favorite movies. Tron: Uprising is amazing and you should watch it.

That's all I've got. Now enjoy this post originally posted to Tumblr on February 12, 2013:

I’ve decided to write up my experiences with Tron, and how I feel about each of its many parts in the order of when I encountered them. Why, you ask? Because, why not? That’s why. I enjoy shouting my opinions into the open air for people to read or not read at their leisure.

Don’t look at me like that.

It’s long so - below the cut we go! :D

On Bluesky, of my posts sharing a bunch of Anti- Management lists* got a reply going (paraphrased): "I don't understand why you would block these people. They're all for good things like being against proshipping."

And I'm like. Everyone on these lists has expressed they don't want "Proshippers" interacting with then.

If they are all muted, we won't interact with them.

It is literally a win-win. What is not to understand. XD

*A moderation list is a sharable, updatable list users can create to Mute or Block en mass. They are amazing.

It's fun when you can pinpoint the moment in a fanfic that you lost most of your readers. LOL.

When chapters go from 10 to 12 comments per chapter and then plummet to 4 to 5 and then down to 1, it's pretty clear where you lost them. Heh.

I'm trying not to let it bother me, because I'd still go that direction with the story if I did it all over again, but it still sucks to lose half your readers. XD

I. Loved. Rosemary's Baby. 10/10 one of the best horror films I have ever seen.

It may be becuase all of the horror is centered around birth, pregnancy, and gaslight, but this is the first horror film where I was genuinely uncomfortable and squirming in my seat from the opening musical bars to the end of the film.

I watched this movie in 3 settings and it didn't change the tension at all. Full on sick feeling of dread for the entire runtime.

What's more, is I love that the pregnancy horror is about how much Rosemary wants her baby. So many times in horror films, pregnancy is about the unwanted or being forced into it--and while those are valid horror topics, it's so unique to have Rosemary be scared for her kid.

It adds a level of Mama Bear to her character which is just icing on the cake.

While I loved it, I definitely need to  be in the right mindset if I want to watch it again. Ha ha ha.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil may be one of the funniest films I have ever seen in my life that also has a wonderful message about judging others. 10/10 reccomend.

A parody of slasher horror like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, this film takes Miscommunication and assumptions and turns them up to 11 resulting in some brutal, cartoonish deaths and some of the most likeable protagonists you've ever seen in your life.

And don't get me started on how much I unironically like Chad and Jesse Moss' portrayl of him. Top ten movie bad guy material for me. (I have such a crush. Ha ha ha ha.)

I won't say anything more because this is a film I truly don't want to spoil for you or even tempt you to read spoilers.

If you can handle bloody, violent fun--please, please watch it. You will have a great time!

The "oh lord I've annoyed someone" anxiety is very real.

9/10 fantastic film. Psycho holds up and is absolutely worth the watch if you haven't seen this classic yet.

Literally the only reason it isn't a 10/10 for me is becuase I laughed at all the death scenes. They did not age as well as the rest of the film.

Norman Bates is charasmatic and adorable in a way that makes you almost root for him. The way the movie handles Norman and his mother do such a great job of hiding the reveal that (most) know already due to the film being so old. (Cheers for "Rosebud" spoilers.)

It's also fun watching this film from a historical context. It's rated R and was absolutely schocking upon its release (A woman was shown in her bra! The "gore" of the shower scene! Crossdressing!), but now I struggle to see this film getting anything worse than a PG-13 rating.

Times in cinema have certainly changed.

All the same, this film is 100% worth watching for Norman Bates alone and I hope you check it out!

My Bluesky Liveblog and Mini Review

I have decided to write proper reviews for the horror films I've been liveblogging on my Bluesky account. First up:

The Tunnel (2011)

An Australian mockumentary, I rather enjoyed this film more than I thought. I haven't seen a lot in the "found footage"/documentary style horror, so I wasn't sure what to think. The backrooms-esque horror film kept my attention throughout and I enjoyed the setting.

While the film has its issues, the setting itself more than makes up for anything. I loved the tunnels and cinematography going on throughout the entire production.

The eerie atmosphere is not to be missed!

Spoilers and more free talk from here on out. :D

Indyx

So, in what I can only call a fit of madness, I decided to download and use the app Indyx after seeing one Youtube Video fashion lady. I am now in the process of trying to sort and catalog all of my clothes, not only in the app, but on a Google Spreadsheet because if I'm going to go to all this work, I want it in a second place. It slows down the process a lot, but at least the part of my brain that loves spreadsheets and organizing digital items is happy.

That said, I am learning that I have SO MANY CLOTHES. Oh my gosh. It's barely processing that over the years I've gotten rid of like 10 garbage bags worth of clothes and still have this many left. XD I am full on summoning Marie Kondo as I dump things on the bed and really think about "Do I want this?" again.

THAT SAID. I do hope the app does it's goal of reminding me what stuff I do have. Like. I love cute clothes. I love fashion. Style Savvy and the Nikki games are some of my favorites. I like looking at cute clothes. I just don't usually have the energy to lay out outfits or do anything more than grab the closest thing on hand when I get up in the morning.

I'm crossing my fingers this app will encourage me to wear more of my cute things and actually swap out my purses to match.

At the very least, I feel productive. XD

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my Dreamwidth Journal. I hope you enjoy your stay!

I love chatting, but I'm bad at starting conversations, so feel free to comment and say hello! On any post! You see a post over ten years old? Go ahead and comment. I love it. Ha ha ha.

Have a wonderful day!

I have updated my blog theme to something I think is a little nicer to read on mobile.

Might customize it more later, but for now I'm just proud of changing something without an anxiety attack. Lol.

Old Essays

I wonder if crossposting (and back dating) old Tumblr essays would get me back into the grove of both writing them and being more active here.

I do miss having more Post with Comment conversation style internet socializing.

Plus the tag trees here are so satisfying. I want to fill them. XD

Edit 10/6: Screw it. I'm going to crosspost some essays. I'm going to beat the anxiety down one post at a time. XD Maybe not today, but I will do it. Some time.

Edit 10/11: The crossposting has begun. For both Tumblr and CoHost & this is my last update on it. Lol.

Hey, so CoHost shut down and I saw someone with an active Dreamwidth account and went "oh yeah, I have one too."

So this is my yearly check-in and I added my Bluesky account to my pinned post. XD

The Pikmin games are so good. I haven't finished any but the 3rd one (though I have watched other people play them lol), but I'm playing the 4th one now and it's so much fun.

Pikmin 4 really streamlined everything. My only complaint is I miss Alph, Brittany, and Charlie. I hope they show up later. XD

My friend hit her DM limit on Twitter while talking with me and it is truly depressing how far that site has fallen in such a short time.

The site always had issues but it was never like this.

I'm glad for alternatives like Cohost, Tumblr, and what not, but still. I know different people on different sites and it's sad to know I'll probably lose a lot of them I'm the inevitable collapse.

Haven't thought about My Hero Academia in ages* and now I'm ravenous for Endeavor and Hawks fics. Lol. Of any dynamic. Friends. Lovers. Unhealthy. It's all good.

I love them so much. T-T

*Please look away from all my MHA WIP fics waiting on updates, including one Endeavor and Hawks fic..........

I'm trying to catch up on my ever growing To Comment list1 in my AO3 bookmarks, and of course the first one is over 100k and 35 chapters. Lol.

At least it's an older fic. As an author I always love getting comments on old stories. XD

1) I've developed a habit of reading fics straight through then telling myself I'll come back and comment on the second read. Then before I know it my list is over 80 fics LOL.

3D Printing

I have become aware that you can 3D print ball joint dolls and now I want a 3D printer.

I need to research.

I have been a big fan of "budget" BJD (like Monster High), but I'm not really a big fan of the new dolls out now. Not a fan of their face molds.

But if I can make my own....the possibilities. :D

Especially since I'm learning how to sew and made my first Barbie-sized doll dress last night.

Something for the to-buy-in-the-future list. :D
