Instagram & Writing Group
Oct. 17th, 2019 02:43 pm A few days ago, I joined Instagram.
I could have sworn Dreamwidth was going to be the last "new" social media account I created (I barely keep up with the others I have now. o-o), but most of the members in the new Writer Group I've started attending have it and I wanted to support them. So I joined. Like a sheep.
So it's a good thing sheep are my favorite animal. :P
It's an interesting site, anyway. I'm still not entirely sure about it (or if I want to crosspost things to other sites or leave it as it is or whatever) but I'm on there now. XD
Joining the writing group has been much more beneficial. It's low key and (funny enough) I'm the one who's technically published the most, though I still feel behind the others when it comes to productivity and taking Writing as a Career Seriously. Which is a weird dichotomy to be in. XD
Ah well. I've worked more on my original stuff the past few weeks since I joined than I have...pretty much the entire last year, so it's doing some good there. Heck, I stumbled upon a post from 2016 stating I wanted a sequel for a book out by the end of the year (Spoiler: That did NOT happen), which has helped motivate me more.
The group sets writing goals, we read each other's stuff (or well, we will if there's stuff to read), and just basically encourage each other every week.
Even for normal stuff - like telling someone to ignore that jerk bullying them on social media.
So it's been good.
Hopefully this three year writing slump goes away.
(Well, original writing slump. I've been killing it on the Fanfic front. XD)
Now to go back to relaxing, because I'm also home sick at the moment. Fun times. xP
