Self Awareness...
Nov. 5th, 2024 03:29 pmSaw a post on Tumblr lamenting that Proshippers also like a pairing that they do & want us to stop.
But like. The pairing they were referencing is PERIDALE.
If we use the (albeit wrong) definition of a proshipper being someone who likes "bad" ships, then why wouldn't they love PeriDale?
Dale Dimmadome is a self absorbed, greedy man who neglects his kid. Don't get me wrong, I love exploring his character more and looking for the background that got him there or working out how he may become a better person in the future, but at his core he is not a good man and not in a place to have a healthy relationship with anyone.
Peri liking Dale is also messed up, honestly. It's a huge conflict of interest when his godchild is Dev and Dev should be his 100% priority.
PeriDale can range from OOC to angst becuase Fandom, but if it were canon, they would be an unhealthy mess.
Like. I see this all the time with antis (self proclaimed or not). The hypocricy and lack of self awareness will never stop being absolutely baffling.
And boy am I glad I can vent here over starting a scene on Tumblr. LOL.
