greyliliyHey. I wanted to vent about something but didn't want to deal with drama and remembered Dreamwidth exists. Lol. Go me. XD

I've been going through my To Comment tag in my AO3 bookmarks and I'm reading an old My Hero Academia Overhaul!Whump fic and it made me read his Wiki synopsis because I am admittedly not caught up with the series.
What do you mean he spends the rest of his life being hated by the father he loves and apologized to. What the heck is that.
Yes, Overhaul was a heartless monster who experimented on his kid, but he wasn't a sadist. He was a guy trying to save the world by any means necessary.
And then Dabi over here, the sadistic mass murderer who never shows remorse until like the last frame, gets the full support of his family who showers him in apologies.
Like. What the heck. I'm sorry, but to me, Dabi was infinitely worse than Overhaul as a person.
Heck. You can argue the same with Endeavor. The man who felt genuinely remorseful for his actions (which again, not as bad as the shit Dabi did) is pretty hated still by a lot of fandom.
I think unfairness in deciding who gets redemption and who doesn't is a pet peeve of mine. Because that bugs me. Lol.
I can see the argument that hurting kids is in its own category of awful. But MASS MURDERING SADIST is worse.
